What Should Be My Guitar Plan?
I want to start learning guitar. I am a total beginner, but I played alto saxophone for 5 years so I know how to read the sheet music. Found that some people say you can learn online sites like www.guitartricks.com and books as the series Hal Leonard Guitar Method. I wondered if these plans would work well: 1) The plan referred to above self-taught. The lessons never 2) to take lessons to learn the basics and then I stopped and learn lessons of styles in my own 3) I learn the basics on my own and then take classes to improve my skills and learning style Can I have one that you suggest and why? Easy 10 points!
Ok here is on top of my head 1) pros: you do not pay to learn guitar you get to learn your favorite jams from the beginning once there are plenty of Internet resources to help CONS: you do not learn the technique appropriate many of these sites are Ameteur for guitarists who like bulls * that the guides can be wrong you do not get an overview of your instrument, you just to learn to play note for note 2) PROS a teacher is invaluable as they have more experience, and can improve their techniques you learn online straight from the start, you can measure your progress by class, in general, only one teacher is great, their feeling of playing infront of someone you want it sound good. as humans we tend to fall into bad habits, because it is easier, but people are listening Hwen we are painfully aware of what we play 3), to be honest, it's like * the idea that, for untrain bad habits takes forever I for example, played a guitar (i sorta still do) I never had classes and went on to what you're suggesting the NO.1) I always wanted to play down my father started me on guitar, so finally I took bass lessons from 1 day I noticed I had errors bad one was that my thumb used to wrap around the neck of my guitar and be visible to the listeners (in fact he must push the back of the neck, the center) and my wrist was always at an angle that prevented me from getting good in my power cords. basically these bad habits are good when you start out, but when you'll play some stuff its awful hard to get right. trust me fork over some money and get the education is much better and how someone said guitarist ANY pro will recommend lessons. look for example, in fair RHCP Bass thought he was by Hillel Slovak (guitarist RHCP original, who died of an overdose, hear Freaky Styley hear Hillels Amazing work, Frusciante (guitarist of this) was highly influenced by Hillel) Flea then took classes, he is now going some college to learn music theory, etc., even took classes Curt Cobain, Cobain used to bulls * is a lot of interviews to annoy reporters. so dont trust her interview (read Heavier Than Heaven his biography of him, very well acclaimed music and a good read) your taste of martial arts (me too) if you go to the MA on Yahoo answers that you will ver''eu can learn martial arts from the Internet or books without''='' you trust a surgeon who learned via DVD?''also applies very well to guitar or anything in life.
