What are the basics of making a recording studio at home? ?
Ok so recently I write some original songs and people are really taking a liking to them. I really want to save some of my stuff with good quality. Now I play guitar and sing. So, all my songs I will be your voice, my voice and maybe a few hits. Now I have all the things to play his music I just need the recording equipment. I know I need a software for sound editing on my computer but I'm wondering what I need to do too much, then the software for sound editing? Cause Im lost there. thanks.
Recording on your computer would probably be the way to go. You would get used to working with the software and there is hardly limitations. Although, there are fairly inexpensive multi-writers out there and sometimes be linked to a computer only makes you feel things more complicated. Recordings be transferred to a computer you really need is a card-type pro sound recording or interface that uses ASIO drivers very low latency and has a zero-latency monitor or headset. Multi-control would be impossible without one. Many of them have pre-amp microphone, especially the USB / interfaces. Most of them come with some type of multi-tracking / effects software to get you started. Most of this software allows the addition of beats and virtual instruments, one way or another ... using the software itself ... loops ... MIDI ... becomes complicated and I have not gone there yet. SONAR is supposed to be among the best software. There are some other popular. Shure makes some fairly cheap microphones that are widely accepted as being worthy for the vocals. I do not know if your guitar has a pickup bridge or what a good mic for acoustic guitar is ... You could Google and who knows the answer in a few minutes, I'm sure ... You can look for a microphone hole sound pickup or their guitar ... Just go to Musician's Friend or the other music sites ... Check out some interfaces and microphones, maybe some writers multi-track ... read some comments ... You'll probably want to buy low now ... and learn to play a small set of electronic drum sounds much better to me than any "canned" drums. It's a slippery slope ... lol.
