Acoustic Guitar Low E Sound

Guitar Help?
I always strum with a pick on the low E string on my guitar I hear and feel a faint vibration that seems to originate the head where the tuning pegs. Could someone please tell me what the problem is and how can I fix it?
a couple of things to check. damage to the head. check the nut. check the tuners. replace the strings? this "faint sound vibration" may be a mistake built on guitar?
