Acoustic Guitar Nylon Strings
you can put nylon strings on a guitar with steel strings?
nylon sounds much better, but I want to keep hi acoustic now. It's good to put nylon in a guitar meant for steel strings?
As already mentioned, is not recommended because the ropes of steel is designed deal with the tension of steel strings, nylon strings and the tension is much smaller. It will do no immediate harm, especially if you drop your tensor one complete turn or two to compensate. But if you keep the strings of nylon long your neck can twist or deform irreversibly. I do not recommend doing it, but if you want to try anyway, get nylon strings with ball ends (Martin makes Darco strings with ball ends, and there are also Black Diamond strings with ball ends). Placing nylon strings on a guitar with steel strings is not as bad as putting steel strings on a guitar nylon strings - whatever you do not do this!
