acoustic guitar wood guide
What the hell am I looking for in a guitar?

Especially the wood used, although I could use a complete guide. I just can not recognize a difference, although I am interested in learning, definitely.

Guitars are difficult to nail down as of late, because some companies have been using laminates and other latest techniques and get surprisingly good results. I am a player mostly electric for my experience is somewhat limited. Anyways strum a beautiful Gibson acoustic, or Taylor and hear the shimmer of the guitar track. Now pick up a cheap Ibanez, it sounds hard and shiny. really thin, and anemic sounding. This is entirely due to the wood used. I really like my guitar to be more mature, but only depends on your style. Color and grain helps to identify what kind wood is used. lots of companies and combined to obtain the best compromise between price and performance.
