Good Bass Books?
My goal is to be comfortable with playing any style that is out there. There are good books that teach bassists: Latin Funk and Blues If you can give suggestions for the formation of the ear the better. Thanks
as no one seems to have responded of this, I will make a recommendation ... the best book I've come across a long path is Rufus Reid - The Evolving Bassist http://www.amazon.com/Evolving-Bassist-Rufus-Reid/dp/0967601509 this is not exactly what you're looking for - it is mainly to jazz and, especially, from a low vertical, so there's a lot of things techniques that do not concern you. but it is very well together, inspiring work, has some wonderful ideas about how to approach practice and develop their sound, and you will not regret to get hold of a copy, if you ever switch to the upright bass is essential. and my own experience, if you can learn to play jazz well, then all the other musical styles that will be much easier to understand
