I sincerely would not recommend buying a beginner guitar in a department store. I would highly recommended Ibanez guitars. They are great guitars for any beginner, intermediate or specialist. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-JamPack-IJV50-Quickstart-Dreadnought-Acoustic-Guitar-Pack-519456-i1150606.gc It seemed like he was in his price range, and you can find it on Amazon or friend musicians as well. The comments are great, and I have actually played this guitar a lot lately. very "easy" to play, and he has amazing tone and sound to a mere 100 dollar acoustic. and as you can see this package comes with virtually everything you absolutely need. In Moreover, I can tell you that its not a great guitar.
