I want to start playing guitar ....?

I'll be on October 17 and would like to start playing guitar Can anyone give me some advice on how to that? I cannot find any teachers in my area (I live in Ireland), I play bass guitar or, how do I know which is better me? I was told its best to start with an acoustic, is it true? Any information is appreciated!

Hey, well I'm 14 and I have a guitar last Christmas. I do not care about the teachers as I think I could be spending my money on things much better, so I decided to teach me. I have a Yamaha acoustic, which is really good and easy to learn. I do not know if it starts with acoustic is easier? both are about the same in the sense of chords and tabs. I I think you should pick up a guitar and try to learn and see if you have any capacity for this - some people just can not do it and probably never will be possible. See if you have the skill before you spend your money with all the high-tech material. Just give it a go and have fun - it seems to be doing well! :) I forgot - go in ultimateguitar.com, and look for a simple music that you think would be able to play. Know what guides middle and try to catch it yourself, is so I learned. The guitar I purchased also came with a DVD tutorial that explains the guides, I learned from trying to play things. :) Do not try to learn through observation people on YouTube, otherwise you will never learn to read guides itself.
