Guitar Ableton Live

Guitar / Bass pedal down a bit rate of the sample? 8-bit sound ..?
I'm trying to reinterpret some of my songs I made in Ableton Live and Reason for live performances .. One of the effects that I often deploy in place of the traditional is the distortion .. Redux is the kind of sound that makes things as if they were in a game or Atari Nes I would like to use a bass guitar and get a sound like that ... What are the effects I could get a sound? I know that Line 6 synth bass amps have a setting that does this, but I prefer to use my bassman .. I have no money for the amp. Please Help! Yeah I have a MacBook Pro and I use broadband Space to record bass tracks .. What I'm trying to do is make a live show interesting to people, I do not want to be me and my laptop alone on a stage. This effect is exactly what I want .. But in a pedal! There are some manufacturers that make a module rack mount or a pedal to get it? I do not want to use my laptop for anything other than run the basic rhythm (hi hat) and a click track out for 2 percussionists.
If you are using a Mac, you can Garageband use and use the "Bitcrusher effect" for the cold tones. Unfortunately, I do not know the version pedals ... there might be a definition on a multi-fx pedal ... I just really like the effect in GarageBand and it came to mind. Sorry that's all I could come up with.
