Airbrush Starter
airbrushing has always been a very attractive media art that I have to explore for many years. im 15 so I think it has a lot of time to practice and Excel for that. Does anyone know of any large site or forum that I should look? or any good book? also, my ultimate goal is the art of airbrush home made guitars. if anyone has any experience in that feel free to give me some tips! and I think finally I'm just asking for tips ... I really have no idea where to start or what to do.
I think 15 years is a perfect age to get your first airbrush. If you were more young, you probably would not have enough respect for your equipment to keep it properly. Dirty weapons do not work very well. That said, let's begin. You need an airbrush. Most beginners usually choose a siphon feed his weapon first and a lot of professionals will suggest to do just that. Well, I am a professional, and I say, let's skip this step in their learning process and go straight to the good stuff. Get yourself a good gun gravity feed. Here's why. Siphon foods require much more work pressure, because they have to draw the ink up. With a gravity feed, you can get away with much less pressure. Low Psi. means better control and less about the spray. Gravity feeds are also very easy to clean and maintain. Do not get me wrong! There are some people there out, doing a great job with siphon feed guns, but most custom painters prefer gravity. Siphon feed guns are mostly used by painters T-shirt. I know you do not want to be a painter T-shirt, as you said, you want to make art. ha-ha! Now you need a compressor. Do not get sucked into buying one of those small compressors, made specifically for the airbrush. They suck. I'm not going to suck it. Just trust me. Get a real compressor with a tank and a regulator a trap moisture. The bigger the tank the better. I also suggest mounting the regulator and moisture retention of a wall where you will work, and keep the compressor in another room. Just run some 3 / 8 "hose from the compressor to the regulator. This will keep your work area quiet. I do custom painting, and occasionally to make a guitar. I actually just finished one a couple of weeks ago. The best advice I can give is this. Art is art, no matter what surface you put it. The key to a good paint job is preparation and finishing. No matter how good the artwork is the finish sucks. Most guitars today are painted with automotive paint. If you want to learn how to do it the right way (old school), you can pick up a book of this guy. http://www.ronkirn.com/ I think it's only about $ 15.00. He sent me a PDF copy for free. (One of the advantages of business) I used his technique on the guitar past I did, and wow, it seemed incredible. I did not want to return it to the client. But then I would not receive a check, and that would defeat the purpose of doing business. OK sorry about all walks on. I just wanted you pointed in the right direction. Here's some links: http://www.tcpglobal.com/airbrushdepot/ Airbrushes and just about what you need. Http: / / www.harborfreight.com/ compressor fittings, hoses. This place will save you money, and they have stores everywhere. Http: / / www.airbrushtech.net/ great forum for the beginner and professional. Friendly and great artist's that are more willing to help. Sometimes, some of the famous faces to appear. Http: / / www.howtoairbrush.com/ Some fitness articles. They have a forum too, but I have not spent much time there. http://www.stewmac.com/ supplies custom guitar. Nitrocellulose lacquer. Http: / / smartflix.com / This is how Netfix, but all the video-lesson is. Do guitar, airbrush, custom painting. You name it. They got him. They still have video on yo-yo tricks, if you're into that sort of thing. Hope This helps you out. Feel free to email me with any questions airbrush others. Even if you think they are stupid. The only stupid question is one not asked. I'm sure you've heard it before. Remember to be patient with yourself. Airbrush is not something that can be mastered overnight. I've been doing this for 16 years and I'm still getting better and learning new things all the time.
