Guitar Beginner Scales
Learning to play the guitar is one of the most gratifying things I've ever done in my life, but was also one of the most difficult. The reason I became proficient with my instrument is simple. I practiced and practiced a lot, every day in my room since the age of 16 (I'm 25 now). I spent most of my time practicing the basics: climbing and down the scales, changing chords and trying to improve my repertoire of songs.
Sometimes it was easy to find time to practice because I was in a good mood and I really wanted to play. In these moments I could spend hours just listening to how great it sounded when I changed the D chord for the chord of G. But on other days it was my discipline and desire to play and improve what made me practice and develop as a player.
There are two main factors when it comes to discipline in practice: practicing regularly and practicing well. Both are important to resolve.
Practicing regularly is the most obvious and easy to do. Basically, you must touch the guitar every day. These need not be mammoth sessions, three hours long. 30 minutes will usually be well if you're focused during that time. Making regular, small amounts of practice is much better than going out to all hours, once a week. I know that in a busy life can be difficult to make practice time, but honestly, 30 minutes per day is possible for anyone. There is no set time that is best for the practice, but I prefer to do it night, simply because I think the guitar is a relaxing way to relax after a stressful day.
Practicing an evil is more common and difficult to resolve time you play. I am a firm believer that you should play something perfectly before moving on. But once you know how to play something that you need to follow ahead and keep challenging yourself.
- The opposite is also a problem: Moving On very quickly. You must practice the way you play a piece well before going to the next thing. Play perfectly and accurately is a good habit for any musicians to have.
- It focuses on the development of all parts of his musicianship, when you are practicing. I like to divide my playing the parts. For example, I could spend 5 minutes practicing new scales or chords, 10 minutes working on writing new music for me and maybe 15 minutes learning a new song or part of a song.
- Playing things too fast when you try to learn. This may lead you to become disillusioned with your game when you are trying learn a new song. Most guitarists, including me try to play a song at a slower speed before attempting a fast pace.
Practicing properly and regularly is the best way to become good at anything, including playing the guitar. This requires discipline. Not only the discipline for regular practice but also the discipline to stay focused and on track when you are practicing. If you stay disciplined with your game you will develop into a great player.
