It is a difficult task, but without some preparation, it can be a difficult task to accomplish.
Being a Rock Star
Before the birthday party, write a bunch of rock stars names on cards that children will choose their names out. You also have to make sure you save the items available as well. So when children get, if one Elvis Presley, then give them the cardboard cutout of a guitar that can decorate and give them a little white jacket like Elvis would. This is a great project for you, but the children will worship. Ensure that you allow children to re-choose whether they want someone different (it is unlikely a child will want to be Madonna). Also there nothing wrong with duplicates.
Rock Pictures
After the children are dressed like their rock stars, you can take pictures poses them in rock and roll (guitar in the air, etc.) Children will love it and you can even edit them on your computer so that children have a background of a stage, and your rock and roll name in the photo.
Watch Camp Rock
After all is said and done, you can take a break while the children watch Camp Rock on TV, and you prepare the images, get the cake ready, or put out the presents. When you need a break, there's no better way to deal with children than that.
