Hi there! Buddell Terry back ........
I just wanted toanswer some questions about the steel guitar Weissenborn Lap slide that I built, there few months using only simple hand tools while living on my boat! I had many questions about this type of guitars and I thought I could take the time to explain why basically if you are considering building a guitar for the first time its a great way to cut your teeth, because it is about how to build an easy comparison with an acoustic guitar with a neck so very special and demanding complete and accurate fret spacing

As some of you know that I also built a site that features slide guitar, lap steel and a number of other interesting things all about the fascinating world of slide guitar. For those of you who are interested the guitar was built from the plans because of a Weissenborn Style 2 1920 Maple wood using Australian and the only difference from the original is that I made the neck 2.5 centimeters in depth, instead of 1.5inch and the body 4.5 inches instead of 2.5 inches ... the sound is wonderful as is the volume and the rich tones ... what makes the sound weissy good?

I wrote a series of articles and posted them to the network in some places and there is a whole world of information to explore there for free! the sound is absolutely fantastic and no one was more surprised than me! He had taken me many years to find the courage to actually start building a guitar and basically, I do not know what I was worried! The choice of wood, Maple Australia had much to do with good results and is not really surprising, as Maple is a cousin of Koa wood most famous guitars that are constructed from slides.

I also made the body of the guitar much deeper than style Two original plans and ran around for about two inches longer overall. The plans come on CD ROM and you can get the plan printed out on THE architects or A1 .. their role probably much easier to work from for most people. All the basic instructions are there, step by step and everything is explained very care actually bearing in mind that for many people, will be his first guitar build. Why did I choose the slide as a first Weissenborn guitar building? Well, sort way, is cheating, because most people are aware, the chords are played, but never the fingers of his left hand, with only one layer of glass, steel or brass

Therefore, if the spacing between frets is very little out of truth is really notice costume! you would never get away with that in a adequate acoustic guitar, where you have to play the strings with your fingers!
Basically I also wrote a book called "How to Build a Weissenborn and took the plans and are on sale at my website where you can hear a soundclip of the guitar itself! Cheers for now ... out for more articles for tips and suggestions on free build your own guitar slide a fraction of the cost!

Clapton caught the "unplugged" trend just at the right time, when the public was hungry to hear how well rock stars and their material can hold up when stripped of elaborate production values. Clapton himself seemed baffled by the phenomenon, especially when picking up the armload of Grammys Unplugged earned him, including Record and Song of the Year for "Tears in Heaven," the heart-rending elegy ...

Joni Mitchell would go on from this '71 recording to make more popular, more ambitious, and more challenging albums, but she's never made a better one. Working with minimal accompaniment (Stephen Stills and James Taylor are two of the four sidemen), the Canadian thrush summoned an involving song cycle of romance found and lost. Though Blue is an uncommonly intimate representation, it's also astoni...
