Guitar Blues Scale Positions

Does anyone know any good guitar scales?
I like the minor pentatonic scale, but its a little too bluesy. The harmonious sounds very natural and less metal / neo-classic rockish. Im looking for something, mordern, that Buckethead, Tom Morello, John Frusciante, or even Paul Gilbert might play. Also only I know the first two positions of the pentatonic scale, if I learn the rest could help? Basically I'm looking to find something, or reduce or even a new one excercise, that will help me get out of it blues rock sound that I always seem to get when improvising with the pentatonic scale.
