What makes different guitar sound different?

What makes the model different guitar sound different? It's just the pickup itself? Or do other things as the body shape and size of the neck to etc? Can I get a type of guitar and low-cost final slot it in say emg 81/85 and receive the same guitar sound like any other high even with the pickup?

You could get close to the same sound. But as I said before, wood type, size and shape of the body, and so important the type of amplifier used affect the sound. But pick ups are a big part.
