Guitar Lesson: Become a Better Guitarist By Developing Your Ear

You can hear a melody and then play it on your guitar? For a successful ear will help you a lot in his musical endeavors. Let's see how we can improve this skill!

Learn to know your guitar

To be able to pick up his guitar and play any tune that you hear will be nice I guess!

To understand the relationship between the tunes that you hear and the frets and the strings that you use to play these tunes is something you can practice in different ways. Here are some suggestions:

1. Play with your guitar. Yeah, right! Have a nice time with your guitar! First of all because it's fun and you probably play the guitar first of all for this reason.

That means that you try things on guitar. Play notes and hear how they sound. It really does not matter if it's fantastic tunes you create. The important thing is that you will gradually learn notes, chords and frets are interrelated.

2. Learn scales. Scales can be played for several reasons. One way is to develop a better understanding of the fretboard.

To accomplish this, you should as soon as you learned to play a scale on the guitar trying to use it, try it, trying to create melodies with the patterns, play and so on.

3. Learn music theory. Well, that sounds a bit intimidating, maybe. But music theory can be as simple as knowing the names of the notes on the guitar. Take some notes at a time and throw them in practice the guitar as you say aloud notenames.

4. Learn easy melodies. Yes, easy tunes like Mary Had A Little Lamb and other tunes with a few notes on them. Then try to play the tunes from a different place on your guitar fretboard. This is a very effective way to learn to understand the guitar.

5. Transpose songs. You will develop your ear and your understanding the relationship between chords, transposing the chords of the songs you can play different keys by heart.

Let's take the song as Tom Dooley an example. It contains only two chords in their most common form. If you play it in D-major is D and A7. And if you play in what will be ... And, well, you can discover for yourself.

Try to play Tom Dooley in the key of C and see if you can figure out the chords.

To hear a melody and then be able to play it on guitar is really fun and useful for a guitarist. When trying these tips you may find this a bit more objective!
