Good songs and Classic Flamenco Guitar? Guitarists experienced please help!?
Howdy all, I am guitarist trying to expand my horizons to addition to heavy metal, hard rock, Steve Vai and The Ventures. I want to try my hand at classical guitar and Spanish flamenco. Could anyone recommend some good stuff to play from a beginner to advanced? Thank you all in advance, though I do dig me! I have a guitar for every purpose, an electric an acoustic, a classic, and a sequence of 12. My technique of harvest is not flawless retired roadie, sorry. I think I can not learn playing flamenco then ... But anyone with suggestions please keep coming to me!
I recommend buying the book "Flamenco Guitar Method" Gerhard Graf-Martinez. There are 2 volumes and they come with CDs and DVDs The book and DVD explain techniques Flamenco very well. Volume 1 begins with basic techniques and a lot to learn. Volume 2 is more difficult (for me it is), but very interesting pieces. I recommend this book because if you try to learn songs without Flamenco know the proper techniques first, it will not sound good and you have a hard time. There are other books of instruction (some of Juan Martin) but this is really good. Also, do not worry about the method of collecting is "impeccable. After all, everyone starts as beginners. Do not let something so kill your motivation. I feel I should also point out that the purists 'Flamenco' are very strict in what they consider to be 'flamenco'. Surely you will hear many comments like "this is not flamenco. I've heard many times. Again, do not let something like that kill your motivation. Just have fun playing - it doen't matter if it is not 'appropriate flamenco "Good luck and have fun!
