What was the name of the '80 's hair group with rock music guitar "dance all night"?

Ok I have found the answer to this question, but I'll leave it open as a challenge for all music lovers out there (like me). Some clues: They did a tour with Motley Crue and heart, and was a friend of lead singer David Lee Roth, and even adopted some of his singing style. Of the six studio albums, they only had three hits, while these hits were great songs, and a platinum. His group was started in 1983 in Los Angeles OK, one more Big Clue: One of his songs was featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, The Game PC best video of all time (first was The Game video allowing you to interact a lot with characters from The Game off the main objectives "mission" ... Just a great track. They have been elected the best looking '80 's hair band / glam rock group. The guitarist, Steve Lynch, was great, and made some shred guitar instructional "videos.
