guitar drop tuning
You can change a guitar to Drop D (DADGBE) to standard (EADGBE) tuning using a capo?

Probably a really stupid question, but I'm in a metal band and I play guitar. Some things we play is Drop D tuning, but the other is Standard. Is there a way to use a capo to switch between the two? What I mean is, I tune my guitar in Drop D, but use a capo a fret and then have it in standard tuning Thanks? advance (:

You could capo on the E string of fat (or D here I suppose) on the second fret ... but it probably will not hold. Edit: If you were totally suspended D (DGCFAD) you can just click a capo on the second fret and it would be standard ... that would change the dynamics of your other songs in Drop D you are using. Edit2: I still think of things! Haha. You're probably just better off to get very good at his string of superior fit of D to E.
