Electric guitar music theory help! (Scales and Octaves)?

Hi there I need to make this request, but I am confused by what they are asking. She says I need 1. play the pentatonic minor and C Major, at least two ways in two octaves. I know all the pentatonic minor, but I do not know where I start the other eighth? 2. So says improvisation in the style of my choice not exceed 1 minute (I can do this 3). The next point two contrasting guitar parts (rock, funk, reggae, pop) each to last 16 bars someone please help me? thanks!

This is all very simple for those who can actually play a guitar ... When you learn on your own and not having a teacher, then you have a problem when you really have to prove that you can play a guitar ... and if you can not pass a simple test, then you can play the guitar, and I think you can.
