Although born in New Zealand, Keith Urban moved to Australia when he was young and it was there that he picked up a guitar in just six years old. Urban began lessons when teaching a woman to play guitar offered to teach the novice musician in exchange for free advertising in the shop window of his father. Urban was winning talent shows by the time he was eight years and also involved in a youth acting company that improved its dance, theater and singing skills. Urban was introduced to artists like Dolly Parton, Glen Campbell, Don Williams and composer Jimmy Webb ( "Galveston") thanks to his father's passion for American country music, and he expanded his tastes to include Dire Straits and playing guitar Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham and Mark Knopfler.
Keith Urban burst onto the scene of country music during the resurgence of the genre early '90s in Australia her long blond curls and rock-meets-country sound, but continued to fix his gaze on the country mecca of America-Nashville. When the original bassist of the group returned to Australia, Jerry West Virginia Flores completed and the Treasury soon gained notoriety for their live performances, which highlighted the skills Urbana guitar. After signing with Capitol Nashville and ink management deal with IRS Records founder and manager of Police Miles Copeland, the Treasury released their debut album and received critical acclaim in 1997. After releasing an anthology (Days Go By) and a live DVD (Livin 'Right Now) in 2005, Urban made some major moves in his personal life in 2006 when he married fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman in June and then voluntarily entered rehab for alcohol abuse in October.
