I was thinking recently left handed guitarists (I know I need to get out more) and asked what the effect of left handedness had on his style of play. Most of very famous people who are familiar with but I'll list some anyway:

Jimi Hendrix-Yes, he has to go first still - as you probably know that he played a restrung right handed guitar which he played upside down. (guitar, not Jimi, but who knows at the beginning). Gibson did however custom make it a left-handed Flying V in 1969 that he used the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970.

Kurt Cobain - played a mixture of left-handed guitars upside down and restrung guitars delivered. Favored Mustangs and Jaguar, which interested a bit with Strats and had some custom-made for him.

Paul McCartney (free again!) I know he played bass the Beatles, but he also played and plays guitar. Trivia fact - the guitar he learned to play that belonged to a childhood friend sold for more than $ 600,000 in 2006! If you know any aspiring Rock Gods people maybe you should give them some gear (as long as you get back and that is not garbage).

Although some purists may scoff at this is certainly simple for electric guitars. It can be difficult at times using the volume and tone controls and some guitars may just not be comfortable to use this form.

3) Buy a purpose built guitar left handed.

This avoids having to restring your guitar and means that all the controls you need to be accessible. Also avoid difficulties in the use of an unusual arrangement of ropes and will do more training materials available to you. Less likely the right hand clumsy friends will want to borrow your guitar and give it back after she jumped off a concrete floor.
