What is the best recording package at home?
I'm a guitarist of 14 years old and I really like to record my own music. Check out my site: http://www.blastmymusic.com/electrictone I record electric guitar, guitar, drums, bass and keyboard. I currently own a Fostex MR-8 and Nero Soudtrax (software) to record with and is very limited and not very high quality recording. me and some friends are thinking about forming a band. 2 guitars, 1 bass, 1 drum kit, 1-2 vocalists. I'm looking for a mixer that can work with it, if anyone knows a good combination of software and hardware for a computer-based studio recording at home, please share. Or if you have had good experience with mixers and software ... I'm sure I prefer a firewire mixer. I have done some search ... I just want to hear from people who used some equipment that you enjoyed. Money does not grow on trees here, please give me something reasonable for a 14 years of age. (Though I know I need to save up and beg my parents for money: P) Thank u
Hey, I heard his music. Impressive for her age. Composition is pretty solid. I'd be interested to see what you can do with some decent equipment and some vocal tracks added. You can hear the lack of quality with while recording. Although you can also listen to their potential. I use a mixer and Onyx Firewire Card. It comes with Tracktion, which is very underrated piece solid software. It comes with great effects and filters to help you master and edit. Yah Pro Tools is the most important thing ever, but the cost is actually more than $ 20k to get plug-ins decent and really leverage the power of Pro Tools. So do not let the guys that you can sell Digi Rack, Mbox 2, icon, or just because of Pro Tools. Cubase and Tracktion are two major recording software that can do all Pro Tools LE can do. And it has great quality. You can get the Onyx mixer into 12 channels, 16 or 24. I think that 12 is abundance, even for a band. Vocal 2 Channels, 1 Bass, Guitars 3 and 6 microphone on the battery = 12 channels. The nice thing about the Onyx is the amps and EQ in the mixer is actually good for the price. Mackie has been making mixers for years and put out one of the best products. Also you can choose the mixer and to the firewire card separately. So you do not have to put up $ 1030 at once. Digi Rack 003 = $ 1200 http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Digi003R/ I really do not recommend it because it only has 8 entries. So you would be limited to the amount microphones to put on your drums, or you would have to write separately. It comes with Pro Tools. Well there are some options there. I use the Onyx Firewire mixer and love with quality.
