lessons that I should continue my guitar?
I have been taking guitar lessons for 2 years now and my guitar teacher asked me if I want keep coming since I am no longer interested in the blues rock of the south that he is trying to teach me. I like to play rock and heavy metal and do not want to learn what he is teaching. ive said all learned to play this style, but i still cannot solo or do certain techniques such as scanning picking.He says he will not teach me that lasts or the music I want to learn. im not sure what to do, but this guy has a sense of humor is very sarcastic and I do not like.im at school and since the end of next the year I'm too busy preparing for finals and do not wish to practice. Also I only have a 360 and likes to play it in my spare time. What should I do. Stay or go? I'm afraid if I leave my parents will not pay for me to go anywhere else to learn.
Find a teacher who teaches what you want to learn. You have 2 years invested, do not throw out. I had students that I taught and realized that what they want to play, not what I'm teaching them so I make a recommendation to another teacher and let them go. I taught them the basics of my style and after a while you find your own niche and want to go there and I'm fine with that. I had return and several thank me for pointing them in the direction they wanted to go. I had more than leave to stay & that's ok too. I do not teach often more, sometimes it cuts what I want to do.
