Good question. Couple of things to consider. It's hard to tell if the quality the sound is much better, because it's all relative. BC Rich are and have always been fantastic and over who play passably. BC Rich will never sound like a Les Paul or PRS. Quality materials and craftsmanship simply does not compare. That said, $ 300 is a very small update in the world of guitar and it might be worth trying the pickups new. If you love the guitar, the new pickups will certainly not make the sound worse. Moreover, given the rarity of your particular guitar, make sure to stay with original pickups if you do decide to change them out. That way you can reinstall them down the line if you want to sell it to a wealthy collector serious (they must exist).
