Guitar Jack Plates

What kind of adapter I need a 1 / 4 "cable into a 1 / 8" jack?
I recently bought a stereo adapter 1 / 4 "to 1 / 8 ", but did not work with my shotgun microphone. I was told by the seller that I would need an adapter cord (not since the microphones are mono, stereo). Now I'm looking for a correct adapter. Just to make sure you know what I'm talking Jacks to 1 / 4 "is like a guitar cable and 1 / 8 Jack" is like one you find on an iPod or MP3 player. The cable from my microphone is the 1 / 4 "as a guitar cable and should enter into a 1 / 8" jack on my camera video. As I said, the seller of my former board said I had mono. Does this mean I need mono to mono, stereo to mono, or what I found ....? but this is not gold-plated so I don; know if the audio quality is very good for the movie semi-professional: What kind of adapter http://www.topmicrousa.com/sdmt-fr1333.html I need to do? I have to start this Saturday for a place to get it too would be appreciated. Thank you.
Depends if your camcorder has stereo or not. If not, the mono to mono adapter will do the trick. Gold plating is not important. Just keep it clean. http://www.allspectrum.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=819 If you are a video camera with a stereo jack, it is likely that a stereo jack. A stereo to mono adapter would work in this case. The sound quality may not be the best when the bridge between the two channels simultaneously. The stereo mic would be better. http://www.electronicsnmore.com/product_info.php/products_id/4985 Not many left stores that sell small pieces ... You could try Radio Shack ... Maybe a music store ... Guitar Center may have what you need ... or perhaps to pay for transport overnight from a web site.
