Guitar Journal

It's too late for me to try and learn to play piano?
I'm 53, I always wanted to learn to play an instrument. If not the piano, what happens guitar? Which should I get? I had songs in my head for years, I would like to be able to put down on a recording, but only for me as a diary of my life. Thanks to all who responded. I do not know how to do, but ---- It would be rude of me to ask for a star or two? I really like the opportunity to see a lot of different answers as well. And some advice on how to get in a real program.
I suggest a cheap electronic keyboard with a built-in key pace. They are easy to use and you can choose different sounds, along with the key and they still have to percussion (drums) for most. There is a chord key that allows you to simply choose a key that you find pleasing to the ear and then you just play any one of the keys and they are all in the same full key! You can get a stick in the book learning in most music stores for about $ 10 and a chord finder is less than 5! You have hours fun, if you press the play button and start singing along and it will help you find your true place, with the range that best suits your style personal singing. Later, you can buy a tape recorder and headphones with microphone to listen to yourself and learn to enunciate his words, that is clear and smooth sound. Try use funny voices and just have fun a little silly until you find a nitch that fits your style! Then you can add guitar once you have mastered the keyboard and combining the two. The possibilities are endless and so are the financial costs of buying equipment! It's Worth every penny if you want to be good in their trade / hobby! Just have fun fun fun with their new toys, ok?
