SOT New Single Reviewed

There is no chart topping debut cameos in the new single 'Baby Hookah' Denver, Colorado, hip-hop experimentalists Strange Orange Tongue. However, ever more innovative music noticed immediately. 'Baby Hookah is a real team grunge hip hop-up, the one looks at the mystery that maybe hip hop will come with the release of the entire body, "The Lift", later this year. So what's all the bub cube on Strange Orange Tongue? No pun intended, but it is a matter of taste, which could be the reason for the name of the band (Strange Orange Tongue). For those who do not know the band best known simply as SOT, then let me tell its place among the Audio Bullys and Modeselektor. Like most of his songs, it's hard for me say whether this band is light or dark, perhaps ingeniously purpose. It is clear that the "Hookah Baby" is not a water pipe at all, so What is it?

Strange Orange Tongue

Baby hookah is filled with honesty beligerant and highlighted with a message about the political climate "Gaza a calming needs ... "and allusions to the raunchy" .. a pitcher of Kool Aid that is enriched with some alcohol. "Other times, the lyrics are vague enough so you ask yourself, "Well, maybe he is talking about a hookah hookah baby or a baby." Somehow, the music seems quite consistent considering one minutes talking about their sources in SoHo and MySpace followed with a mention of "Apple" to be "a poison in the land of fashion ...". No Strange Orange Tongue site, Hookah lyric baby 'Apple' is with a capital 'A'. It is a reference to the hardware manufacturer? Or the band is skilled in intelligent tricks or is there really a deeper artistic expression. Anyway, it's just the first song on the debut album for the time will tell. His antics always kept me interested since its bootlegs leaked a long time, but you have to think that the fans have had since evolved so far ... right?

For sound, the music takes an old school feel Cypress Hill with the background of fuzzy guitar and marching time. The hookah Baby dry drum sound echoes letter in a more perverted and odd spoken range gives the impression left by the droll singer Nic Rio de Janeiro. You feel he may be doing more to explain to you or remembering to hit. Some may wonder if Strange Orange Tongue was common themes in favor of more mainstream than the typical "Silver Dollar Nips attitude" of the past. Will interesting to see if they are overlooked as geniuses as outlined MF Grimm or if they will receive praise from Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. I'm sure it will be worth checking out in December. Again, time will tell.

The song was scheduled to launch on October 28, however they have since released early on the site Strange Orange Tongue.

Ten

Ten

$4.32

Part of the '90s Seattle grunge triumvirate completed by Nirvana and Soundgarden, Pearl Jam debuted with Ten, their most accessible, least self-conscious album. Over time, PJ's rep as a politically correct band just a little too above it all to prostitute its music on MTV has nearly superseded the music. But before that, they were a simply an in-your-face, in-your-head, loud, melodic rock band. An...

Room for Squares

$5.56

Singer-songwriter John Mayer fills his debut, Room for Squares, with pep talks to and advertisements for himself. Even when questioning his young life, Mayer's doubts come off glib; not one second of "Why Georgia" convinces that "the stirring in my soul" keeps the artiste awake at night. Between his Dave Matthews-wannabe vocals and the accomplished but bland lite rock of his band, he could be just...
