How difficult is learning to play guitar in comparison with other instruments?
I tried to teach me guitar once before, without much luck ... I was not very dedicated though. I learned to play piano on my own quick and easy, and I can already play sax and flute very well (although, I took band for years to lean to really master these two). If I really committed - and forced me to practice, I should be able to play in a relatively short period of time (a year or less)? It is a guitar of the most difficult for most people to learn?
You already have a leg up on almost all the others out there, you already know how to play some instruments. A string instrument is a little out there, when comparing the wind instruments, but you know how music works and you can do it the right way. Do not listen to people who say "yes, I learned from online and blah, blah, blah" They think they are good, but do not really know what they are doing musically. Knowing piano helps you greatly and you should not have time learing music on guitar, just take time getting the feel of a stringed instrument.
