guitar low e buzz
E and a guitar string buzz on the first fret?

I have a guitar with Floyd Rose system installed. few days ago I took it to a friend of mine that he could lower the bridge and correct action. while it was left overnight, he replaced the strings for me. were playing random stuff, when I came across the E (low) sequences and less, and they make an ugly buzzing sound when played on the first fret. he said I needed to break the ropes and he would stop, but its been a while and he still is the buzz like the same place .. help?:]

The bridge / action is too low. Usually the tension of the strings will have less and less as the get older, OLDER making buzz more strings. What is happening is when you press the string down, the angle of your finger to the bridge is so light / low that when the string vibrates back and forth is rubbing (or buzz), the 2nd or 3rd fret making a metallic sound terribly bad buzz. You can increase the action or, perhaps, the tensor (which makes your neck back and forth) can be adjusted. Skilled luthiers are worth their weight in gold. Floyd Rose systems are notoriously difficult to install, as well as its something that is not all dude with an Allen wrench can do. Take homes. andy
