guitar lute tuning
Lute songs on classical guitar?

I would like to play the lute music on my classical guitar. What is the setting for lute? Or what is the fret right to put a capo on? (hoping it would be the shortcut) Thanks for your help!

I got this from Wikipedia: "Lutes were made in a variety of sizes with different numbers of strings / courses, and with no permanent standard for tuning. However, then, seems to have been generally truth of the Renaissance lute: A 6-course Renaissance tenor lute would be tuned to the same intervals as a tenor viol, with intervals of a perfect room between all courses, except 3 and 4, which differed only in one-third larger. The tenor lute was usually tuned nominally "in g" (there was no standard step before the 20th century), named after the step of course higher, producing the pattern [(Ð'Ð) (CC) (FF) (AA) (DD) (g)] from the more clear to the highest. (Renaissance lute music Much can be played on a guitar tuning third string guitar by half a tone.) "Me again: Lutes were very similar to a 12-string guitar. That is what GG is like notation Cc. So, take the double and you get GCFADG Looking at that last line wiki, it seems that you would tune the strings of his guitar G to F #, and then if you put a capo on the 3rd fret, you would have to fit to the lute. To be really accurate you want a 12-string guitar classic. but that's if you wanted to sound just like a lute really. But you can get the idea base with your own guitar. I suspect that if you have music for lute, was not very different form of sheet music for guitar. If you're a guitarist actually performed and reader of view, may even be able to remove it without a capo or retuning. But to duplicate lute fingerings (which probably makes sense to do) you adjust it as I described above and using the capo. Sounds like a cool project. I wish you all the best, that's right. Good luck, man.
