What is the technical definition of action down at a guitar? What separates low share of medium-low?
When I brought my guitar for small adjustments and a sequence of change, the luthier told me ... "We do not consider this action low." (although string 12th fret only rises half way up my index finger nail). I do not get it ... How low is low, then?
Action is determined by the distance of the strings to the fret bar itself, with preset distances available as guides for them. I just made one up myself in a new sound that came out of the factory, high fashion as they can be with low-cost models - and it is not a Estaban:) And check first fret high, 1 / 64 ", Low 2/64th E 12. Fret High E 5 / 64", Low E 7 / 64 inch. This gave me the smallest possible action w / the fret buzz, but it is necessary scrape the white saddle 100 grains and adjust the truss rod. I took trial and error, but it worked.
