To start teaching guitar lessons that I need than other cards? How do I gain more customers?

I need help to build a local foundation to find students for guitar lessons. What are the best ways to advertise for teaching? I'm already planning on making cards professional business. I also have placed several ads on craigslist, merchant circle, yellowpages, whitepages, and many others. These do not seem to work, even when the students much I've been rating my classes on these sites as one of four and five stars. I've asked several people and believe that the business in a city smaller local customers seem to grow more word of mouth. Well, as I do that if I do not have many customers. Allready Oh, and I've gone to music stores and put local flyers for my business. Im just really stuck. Even when I'm in a network with only about 10 different sites of major networks, including MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and many others. Much help is appreciated. Thanks for any advice!

This is really all about knowing your customers and partnerships. You need to find that his client should be, then find out where your customer is and how you can get yourself (or your business in front of them). For example, if you expect to have kids as customers, then you may want to work with some school districts (if I may) and send home flyers to parents (this happens a lot with my children's school). Maybe you can offer free workshops for children or parents. But you will want to try to do some research to find out when people are more likely to have music lessons to fine tune customer base. If you do not find any research that you may have to make your own "man in the street" survey to answer your question. Secondly, figure out how to advertise and help others achieve their goals as well. Thus, if the music shop, say that you pay for advertising for free workshop, they may loan you a room for him, and maybe they promote it too. This can help bring customers to them as well. So it's win-win build partnerships. I do not have a music business that you may have to adjust it to fit, but I hope the underlying message coming across. Realize giving gifts are not paying, but it takes people to meet you, after you pay. Good luck.
