If you're guitar is like USB, or you have something plug little cold to turn it on, try logic or reason. They are both music mixing software, but in reason (and logic I think) you can download the patterns tool, feed them through a sequencer and voila you added violins or anything. I like best of all Reason because it looks like a recording studio Real created, and you can turn round units and manually plug bits in other pieces, to change inputs and outputs, and different foods and other things. Reason basically is unlimited in its possibillites to combnations of mixers, effects and sequencers, samples, synthesizers and mixers master. The logic is pretty bloody good too. Otherwise, you could go to GarageBand on the Mac, which is good for beginners and non-hardcore types.
