Guitar Movie Themes

I am writing a book and I play guitar, so I was thinking?
Can ... that if my book is published ... and if it becomes a movie ... (I know these are REALLY, really, really big IF's) ... an instrumental theme that I'm coming with my guitar can be accepted as the theme song of the film is good enough? Is this even possible by any stretch of the imagination? Or is this just wishful thinking? I know it difficult just to get a book published and almost impossible to get to become a movie ... but I'm dreaming big and fight for it, but I'm not expecting much and will happy if I publish it and nothing else. Thanks for your help! Have a great day!
You can try, but if Hollywood decides to make a movie out of his book, which will probably ruin it, depending on the type of film that is, or contract an orchestra or pay a major label to use some of their songs. Of course, you can probably try to make it a stipulation that they use their music if they want to make a movie, but chances are your publisher that owns the rights to your book and you will have no bearing on the matter. That's the way things work these days. The artists basically have to sell their work to a publisher in order to obtain recognition, and then the publisher owns the rights to their works. Unless you are independent, in which case you have to work very more to have recognized, though with the internet and everything is getting easier lately. Sorry if I sound pessimistic. What are you trying to do is, of course, not unprecedented, I can think of many situations where the writer also gets to be the director or is otherwise involved with the creation of the film. Hollywood does not always screw things up, it's just that most times they do.
