Guitar Noise Gates

How can I use a guitar pedal board effects loop with an effects loop of the amplifier? Using both wires = more?
I just bought a Furman pedal spb plate 8 and have a Marshall DSL 401 amp. Each has an effects loop and I want to improve my tone, but to me it seems that if I try to use both, I just be adding more wires to my set up. It is better than the other? Or I am not thinking about the correct usage? Also, I have the following pedals. Boss NS2 Noise Gate Boss Flanger, Boss Chorus, Dunlop Dimebag Wah, and a Planet Waves Tuner. From reading online, I think they should run the noise gate, tuner Wah then directly across the input the amplifier, and the flanger and chorus through the loop (s) - Is this right? Thaks a lot, I'm confused, however, because the Marshall manual says that the pedals do not stomp box should be used in the effects loop. So I have to run the modulator directly to the amplifier?
That's correct. You run the tuner, Wah, and Noise Gate through the front of the amp, the flanger and chorus through the loop and win. Although only the people in general below. You can try different things and see that makes your tone.

Boss NS-2 $88.50 Have you even been standing there before your amp, axe in hand, thinking to yourself, "if only my sound was a little noisier...." Didn't think so. The problem is, some of the best pickups and effects are just plain noisy - there's really nothing you can do about that, it's just a fact of life. So you're left with two options, live with the noise, or deal with it. Here's a killer way of dealing wit... |
