Question about guitar parts?

It is called a nut, and must be set properly to provide appropriate action and intonation (ie, keep the buzz and stay in tune to the neck). I would suggest taking the guitar to a technology, so that the work can be done properly. If a nut is displayed incorrectly is useless - and so would be deglued, removed and replaced and reopened.
