guitar pedal boards
How should I organize these effects pedals in my guitar pedal board?

I know people have their own preferences and, depending on the layout pedal the sound of my amplifier can change dramatically. I'm using a boss digital delay, phaser, flanger, and noise suppressors. Thanks

Generally There are 3 types of effects: - Gain Modifiers: compressors, distortion, overdrive, etc. - modifiers Tone: Wah, EQ, envelope followers - modifiers Time: chorus, phase, flanger, delay, reverb. All the effects you mention are modifiers of the time. In general, you want to go shorter to longer. In its case would be the phaser, then the flanger, and after the delay. The suppression of noise, kind of a wildcard. Could go in several places, depending on what the noise is the largest contributor in your audio chain. If you put it first, then it will minimize the noise that your guitar gets important (if you have pickups single-coil). Putting it in the end of the chain will help to mask any noise from your pedals, but could cut any low-level echoes of your delay pedal. None of the pedal you are using are high gain, so I would set the string like this: Guitar ---> Noise Suppressor ---> Printer ---> Flanger ---> Delay ---> Amp Now, bear in mind that this is only a guideline. Try changing the order around ... you may find that you like the sound of echoes flanged! There is no right or wrong luck. Good greetings. Austin, TX Ken
