Guitar Pedal Mods

Do these mods work for a Telecaster for metal and rock.?
OK, I want to get this Telecaster Squire and http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-by-Fender-Vintage-Modified-Telecaster-SH-Electric-Guitar-512575-i1172570.gc I would like to replace the humbucker with an EMG 85 Humbucker active and would like to replace the single coil pickup with an EMG EMG-SA Alnico Single Coil Active Pickup. Do you think that would be enough power to drive distotion heavy, if not a Boss Metal-core pedal along with it enough. I will award the best answer.
Just remember, not so easy to replace liabilities with assets. Not only do you have to replace the pickups, but you have to have a place to mount a battery to power them. usually a 9 volt. You will need a cavity for the battery and a way to route the wires to the pickups.
