Guitar Pickups Wiring

What are good pickups for my new Gibson Explorer?
I was thinking about changing the pickups on my Gibson Explorer because the original 496R and 500T is getting pretty old and I think they are failing a little. What is a good recommendation for attracting new to this guitar? I play mainly rock, metal, blues and jazz and have a budget of about $ 120 for U.S. pickup ... Other miscellaneous issues. It's just, I bought this guitar used and I wonder what year it was made. How do I find? How long is a good time to change the pickups and global circuit of a guitar (pots, wiring, etc.)? If you do not know the answer to the second questions, please just give advice on the pickups ^ _ ^
Consider Semora Duncan SH8 (or SH6) to a nice rock tone. I also like the sound produced by all the Bare Knuckle pickups I've tried (I do not know the name of the model, however, sorry!), But they can be the edge of your price range really. How to find that when it was conveyed that fender has a letter on your site to their guitars, where you can look at the number of series and find out the year, Gibson might have one too. You can also try this site: http://www.guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx The third issue that I I'm sure - I know vintage guitars with electronics is actually going down in value. While the guitar is in good condtion I personally would never change the wiring, and just change the pickups if they were broken or i wanted a different tone.
