What they mean by "coil" pickups guitar?
I know that a pickup is a humbucker pickup coil or two, basically, a pair of single coil pickups connected, but what they mean by "coil"? It is a coil of the pickup itself? That long thing with the 6 magnets? Is this what they mean by cop?
A collector consists of a coil, magnets, and wire that is "wrapped" in around the coil. Over the years, the term "cop" came to mean the wire / coil magnet assembly /, although technically it is just the wire. Greetings from Austin, TX Ken
