Guitar Playing Styles

What pickups would be better for my style of playing guitar?
Hi guys. I'm making my own electric guitar at the moment and need some advice. The last component I need to purchase is the pickups, but I'm not sure what to get. My main styles of heavy metal and hard rock. I play a lot of style guitar solos and fast shred, but also want a powerful sound crisp when I play power chords and rhythm. What pickups would best suit my style of play?
I had to come and answer this if for no other reason that we share the same last night and may be related! If all you are looking for strong colors, then pickups fav these days are EMG active. If you are building your own guitar, you can make accommodations for the battery they require. passive pickups? Try the Seymour Duncan Invaders or the HS-8. What ever you do, I recommend this .... put a high output pickup in the bridge, but then put a pickup in output lower in the neck (like a Duncan '59 or SH2). So if your amp is set up right, you can go from clean to scream with the pickup selector Greetings switch. Austin, TX Ken
