Does this really has to do with physics?

Hi I found this in one of my tests and I can not understand the question. Any help is appreciated. You can lower the tone of a guitar string, replacing this sequence with a thick rope. List two different ways to reduce the height of the string original guitar.

Apart from using a longer sequence, you can also decrese that decreasing the tension. The only other way is to take the finger in rope (because the finger on the string makes it "short") to another string to lower the tone.
