guitar rack equipment
What is some good guitar equipment for a pop punk guitarist?

I'm in a band (http://www.myspace.com/takenthecoast) and I was wondering what a should get for a new rig; head and rack wise, any help is great, thanks.

I really wish you didn't have pictures attached to the page, or that I had closed my eyes sooner.

The music was interesting - I mean, its New Found Glory II, but y'know, what the heck, right?

No, sadly, I try to make it a habit of not listening to music made by people who like to dress fashionably.

I did some google searches on bands with similar sounds, ie TBS (taking back sunday), New Found Glory, etc.

So the NFG is rocking mesa dual recs, TBS is rocking Marshall JCM800's.

With any amp like this (ie 100w or higher tube amp, esp anything high gain) its a good idea to invest in an attenuator or in some low-wattage sockets for the power tubes so that you can use lower-wattage tubes.

With tube amps, volume is a problem - you turn 'em up, they sound better, but they get real loud real quick.

So yeah, Mesa and Marshall are the two brands that come to mind. You'll probably want to get some different preamp tubes, at the very least.

If you don't already have a *good* cab, get one. Something loaded with some high quality Celestions.
