Guitar Rake

Trouble up strumming the guitar?
Whenever I try to hammer up with a pick, I sort of "rake" the ropes. He really does seem right. I can not do it so fast. My guitar teacher said I was using my wrist too. He tried to help me, but it does not could. Then my friend, who played guitar for a while, said I do not depend on my wrist enough, and my strumming patterns are mechanical. Does anyone have any tip for me, especially when I strum up? Thank you very much.
For most purposes, hammering up, keeping your wrist straight, use the elbow to generate movement. You want the choice of hitting the strings pointing away from them (just the tip of the pick should be pointing down). Just rotate the wrist a little over and against the bottom of the strumming to guide the choice of the opposite direction. Practice, very slowly, the speed and gradually over and over. Eventually, you get it.
