I'm in a band and I can not hear me sing. Help?

We have a PA and monitors, etc. when speaking practice in a garage that you can hear me well. But when we play shows that you can never hear me. We played in bars and other things. We bring our own equipment and I can hear through monitors, but nobody in the audience can hear me. I had one person tell me I need to connect to our PA system and spaces, basically doubling on vocals. Then someone told me it did no good. Do the guitars and other things just need to go down? or need more equipment? or I just need a singer louder? Please help.

Acoustics. His garage is going to project your voice as opposed to open areas (bars, patios, etc.) as far as a fix ... no so sure. It's pretty standard to not be able to hear your instrument during the rest of the band while playing, the same goes for the voice, perhaps. Try and make these cells track down I guess? :)
