guitar slide lesson
As you play Slide Guitar (preferably in standard tuning)?

I've played my steel-string acoustic for a while now and wanted enter the game slide. I just bought a glass bottle neck slide and was searching for different methods. And I think I want to try to learn the tuning slide standard from the beginning. I want to learn slide guitar to complement my normal acoustic finger-style picking, not replace it. I want to be able to play like this, Possibly, http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/slide+guitar/video / x6glk0_slide-guitar-Nashville-badass-http: / / www.dailymotion.com http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance / search / slide + guitar/video/xah09o_delta-blues-slide-guitar-lessons-da_music todd_music / relevance / search Sonny / + guitar/video/x42px1_sonnylandrethcrossroadsguitarfestiv_music So please tell me everything you need to know about playing slide guitar. Thank you.

You will want to use the slide on each finger and your ring. The key to keeping unwanted noise down is to muffle the strings behing the slide with the index and middle fingers to keep it clean. One trick is to keep playing while your thumb on the back of the neck aligned with your middle finger making sure to keep the slide up and down, parallel to the frets. Standard tuning slide playing is definitely more difficult than with an open tuning, but it sure is convenient not have to tune all the time when going back and forth. G is an easy part to play in standard tuning, because you have at least open D, G, B and ropes to make a chord G. The most important thing in my opinion, and a lot of practice listening and slide players, is mute the strings behind the slide. Makes a big difference! I would recommend listening to some Allman Brothers, there are some great licks to pick up. I hope this helps.
