guitar snare

My band was performing at Bowen in north Queensland in Australia Kings Beach Hotel. We were playing in "High Voltage", tribute band AC / DC.

We were up about 7 our music together, when I noticed our guitarist broke a string. About 60 seconds after I break a string. No problem, I think I'll get my replacement Gibson SG, be playing again in 45 seconds. I look around. No SG-my rhythm player grabbed it for himself, too lazy to change a string on your guitar! Ok, so I think I will change very quickly with my own sequence of the help of our roadie phase. Another 20 seconds passes. Old mate breaks another string on my guitar parts. The drum and bass solos extension, the singer doing a little improvisation on top, no problem blows up bass player in the string. As many of you would know more songs AC /. DC are in A. He moves to the 5th fret E string, not a pleasant sound, but it is nice enough in an emergency. We will be fine I thought until the drummer has broken the bond skin! This can not be happening! Just can not be! Apollo 13 did not have this much bad luck coincidence! By now my string is replaced by that we have a 3 string bass, a guitar, a singer who remotely bored and looking for a rock to hide under, and a drummer gesturing widely for help with his tie, but the show continues. Formerly pace mate is back on deck and bass will play 3 chords, at least the next 2 songs, up to the roadie goes to the truck and the low replacement (not the players, often breaking bass strings!).

Finally, the tie is all skin the guitars are back to work. We begin exactly where it lost a first sequence and continue as if nothing had happened. Never break song, just pile on improvisation in the middle of the section, because the show must goes on! Ironically, the song that was playing was "Hell Is not A Bad Place To Be ".

Now I can see everyone with experience on stage saying "well that should have changed your string before the show!" The truth was that changed our jails every night, every 6 string bass Shows! We all bought our strings of a supplier and we just have a defective batch.

Moral of the story:
always have spare strings closely accessible, a spare guitar, whenever possible, the drummer, at least a tie for repayment of the skin or perhaps a replacement snare and kick also save the skin of the drum and a singer who may be perplexed when all hell breaking loose around him!

Because the show must go on!
