How do you replace welded wired speakers?
I have a Behringer GMX212. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-VTone-GMX212-Stereo-Combo?sku=480731 and It's speakers are damaged and need replacing. I am planning to buy Eminence Legend 1258 Guitar Speaker 75W. http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Eminence-Legend-125-Guitar-Speaker?sku=667702 The speakers are soldered to the wires going to the amplifier. In order to replace the old speakers with the new Eminence, what should I do? If I cut the wire and use a soldering iron to install the new right?
Do not cut the wires. Buy a kit 25W soldering iron and solder the copper wires practice together, then it will be a work 10 minutes de-solder the old speakers, exchange them for new solder, and re-connections. If the wire is passed through a hole in the connector, you may need a firecracker welding "to remove the old solder before you can get the wire out. Take care to keep the connections of the same circular shape as the original or you will lose a lot of volume (both speakers need to "push" at the same time).
