Guitar Splitter Cable
what cable / adapter that I need to share and record from a guitar amp?
I really do not know how stereo / mono and everything that happens within the cables, so here goes. I have a guitar amp that has a headphone / line-out, so I'm thinking I want to share it with a cable Y (splitter) and have one end going for a headset so I can use it as a monitor and the other on the mic-in on my laptop. abundance plausible, but when I bought a stereo 1 / 4 "to 1 / 4" Y cable today, I realized that the signal is divided and all that junk ... then what would be the best way to do this? im assuming the signal Amps doesn't have to be stereo, since it is just me playing guitar in it. would be much appreciated if someone could tell me when / where I would want to use cable stereo or mono (not 1 / 8 "and 1 / 4" cables work interchangeably when writing something as a sign of guitar amp?) thanks!
Yes, a Y-cable will work, but you are better to put a microphone on the amps themselves and not use the headphones .. This preserves the sound of the amplifier, which is usually quite important for the guitarist. That's the way it is done in the studio. You do not need a stereo cable balanced. "They will have what you need at Guitar Center. Only a 1 / 4 Y ", or power sharing. Fourth and eighth cables work the same .. you just have to have the adapters.
